College of Social Science Enterprise Fund 2018/19

Applications are invited for small grants (up to £250) to stimulate enterprise-related activity within the College of Social Science. The awards are open to any member of staff who can demonstrate a viable action to seize an opportunity which either presents itself or could be developed to stimulate external income. The following activities are examples of the type of activity which can be applied for:
*Please note the panel reviewing applications will consider innovative and different requests to those listed here.

  • Travel cost to and from a national/international location
  • Travel cost for an external guest to visit the University
  • Hire of facilities off campus
  • Cost of specialist equipment and/or service provided
  • Cost of attendance at a networking and/or conference event related to enterprise activity event
  • Cost of training or self-development course related to enterprise activity
  • Cost of mentoring or observing enterprise-related expertise/shadowing opportunities

Applications are ‘rolling’ until Friday March 29th 2019 and will be considered by the College working group representatives via the attached form. Applications will need to be completed in full and any monies received will have to be spent in accordance with the College finance procedures. Further particulars to note on application:

  • Applications will be considered on a first come first served basis
  • Applications are limited to one application per staff member per academic year
  • Applications will be reviewed in a timely manner (ASAP) by a small committee from the College’s Enterprise Working group
